Robin Cousins guest stars as 'Teen Angel'

For the first time in 5 years, GREASE the Smash Hit Musical is back on the road following its record-breaking West End run where it was seen by over 1½ million theatregoers. To celebrate, skating legend Robin Cousins has swapped the ice rink for the stage to guest star, for a limited period only, as ‘Teen Angel’. The former Olympic Champion and Dancing on Ice judge performs (until 7 August) in Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, Bradford, Southampton, Oxford and Cardiff. Looking forward to his role, Robin says: “After being part of Grease in the West End last year, I am so excited to be joining this new, young and energetic cast to once again play ‘Teen Angel’. Grease gets everyone’s feet tapping and I can’t wait to see how the audiences will react across the country.”

Danny Bayne stars as ‘Danny’ with Carina Gillespie as his sweetheart ‘Sandy’. Danny won ITV’s Grease is the Word (2007) and went on to make his West End debut as ‘Danny’ playing the role for over 2 years to sell-out audiences. He recently appeared as ‘Corny Collins’ in the tour of the hit musical Hairspray. Carina joins the cast directly from her West End debut as ‘Sandy’ in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Producer David Ian says: "We’re taking everyone’s favourite show right across the UK on its greatest tour ever – Grease is indeed the word!”

Voted the “No. 1 Greatest Musical” (Channel 4's 100 Greatest Musicals), Grease has proved that a musical love story bursting with denim, cheerleaders, slick hairstyles, rock ’n ’roll, 1950’s pop culture and an irresistible mix of teenage angst and young romance is timeless and universal. Grease is guaranteed to thrill and leave everyone hand-jiving the night away with “a-wop-bop-a-loo-bop, a wop-bam-boom!”
